Decks in Little River

Little River fills up with people who moved here to stop doing chores — then bought a wood deck that wants one every other year. We build for how you actually want to live: low-maintenance, level-entry, and ready for company.

The waterway's quiet humidity

Little River sits off the ocean but along the Intracoastal, and that changes the exposure profile: less direct salt spray than the beachfront, more persistent damp. Morning fog off the waterway, afternoon storms, and dense landscaping keep decks in the older communities off Highway 179 wetter longer than their owners assume. The wear shows up as mildew film, dark board ends, and slick steps — a maintenance problem before it's a structural one, which is exactly when a restoration pass is cheapest.

Built for retirement, honestly

A big share of our Little River calls come from full-time retirees in the golf and waterway communities, and their priorities are refreshingly consistent: no ladder-and-stain weekends, no splinters for the grandkids, and no step down that becomes a problem in ten years. That points the design conversation somewhere specific — composite decking more often than not, picket spacing and gate options where pool codes or grandchildren apply, and level or single-step transitions from the door instead of the builder's ankle-turner. A deck should be planned for the next fifteen years of your knees, and we say that with respect.

Repairs on the north end

Between Cherry Grove's back channels and the state line, plenty of 1990s decks are on their third owner and their first inspection. If you just bought in Little River and the inspector's report waved a hand at "deck shows typical wear," a focused structural check turns that shrug into a real answer — what's fine, what's failing, and what it costs. It's the first call we'd make in your shoes.

Less maintaining. More sitting outside.
